We have three logos: our Symbol, our Wordmark, and our Lockup (the Symbol and Wordmark combined). Over time, our goal is to build brand equity for both the Symbol and Wordmark individually; but, since this takes time, the Lockup should primarily be used with external or new audiences. Learn more about our logos — and usage guidelines — below.
The Symbol is the primary representation of the GoSpotCheck brand, company, and culture. However, since it has only recently begun to appear as a separate brand element, the Symbol should not appear on its own unless the Lockup or Wordmark appear elsewhere in the same design. This will help promote brand equity and recognition across all elements of our logo.
The Symbol comes in two flavors: small and primary. In the small Symbol, the small gap in the circle is slightly wider so that it maintains the same visual weight at smaller sizes. The small Symbol should only be used when the Symbol height is less than or equal to 32px (in digital media) or ¼" (in printed media).
To keep things simple, the small Symbol is only available to members of GoSpotCheck's internal creative team. All downloadable assets on this page include only the primary version of the Symbol. Thus, be sure to always keep the Symbol at least 33px or 0.26" high unless you have been given the small version.
The Symbol should always be surrounded by white space equal to half its width. (this space is represented by "X" in the diagram). You may use more white space around the Symbol, but you should never use less. Never place competing logos or graphic elements in this space.
Observe the same clearance for both the small and primary versions of the Symbol.
To promote brand equity in the logo as a whole, the Wordmark should not appear on its own unless the Lockup or Symbol appear elsewhere in the same design. The Wordmark can scale as large as needed, but it should never appear below 20px or ¼" high. If the Wordmark is too small, it will lose legibility and negatively impact our brand.
The Wordmark should always be surrounded by white space equal to its x-height, or the height of the lowercase characters (this space is represented by "X" in the diagram).
You may use more white space around the Wordmark, but you should never use less. Never place competing logos or graphic elements in this space.
The Lockup should be used in almost all cases where it is necessary to brand something as "GoSpotCheck." We do not yet believe there is enough equity in the Symbol or Wordmark alone to justify their use without being accompanied by the Lockup. When in doubt, always use the Lockup.
Since the Lockup contains the Symbol, it also has two sizes: small and primary. The small Lockup should be used when the Symbol's height would be less than or equal to 32px or ¼"; this translates to a Lockup size of less than or equal to 40px or 0.55". The primary Lockup should be used at larger sizes.
One additional rule applies to the Lockup: to preserve legibility and brand integrity, the Lockup should never be scaled below 20px or ¼".
The Lockup should always be surrounded by white space equal to the width of the symbol (represented by "X" in the diagram). Additionally, the Symbol should be spaced half its width from the Wordmark (represented by ½ in the diagram).
You may use more white space around the Lockup, but you should never use less. Never place competing logos or graphic elements in this space. Observe the same clearance for both the small and primary versions of the Lockup.
All approved Lockup colors are shown below. There is a slight preference for using the 2-color version of the Lockup, but always give priority to legibility and choose the version that provides maximum contrast. Hover over or tap any Lockup below to access downloadable logo files.
The GoSpotCheck logo elements (Symbol, Wordmark, and Lockup) should always be used as is. Do not modify typography, proportions, spacing, or colors of any of these elements. The logo elements should always be set apart from other graphics and should be clearly legible.
To help protect our brand, you should almost always use logos that include either the registered ® symbol or the trademark ™ symbol. In rare cases, or if the legal status of our logos is already denoted elsewhere, the trademarked logos are not required.
When in doubt, use the trademarked versions. Note that the Lockup and Wordmark require the ® symbol because we maintain a legal copyright on the name "GoSpotCheck", whereas the Symbol requires the ™ symbol.
